About: This piece is just Unbelievably Gorgeous - there is something about the way the weavers have architected this color palette together that really works so well. It's hard to put into words, it just sort of speaks to the eyes so effortlessly. Even the design - this medallion is so unique - it is oversized in its width giving it a more focal and balanced feel whereas in most other Heriz pieces the medallion is elongated in an attempt to make the piece look longer. This piece has a very balanced composition in the overall breadth of it. The details are just as equally engineered to create a playful tension between motifs but never any struggle on the eyes - the entire piece is effortless through and through. The 4 corner spandrels are so beautifully "carved" and layered with this subtle yet present color combination. All in all, just very easy on the eyes, it is magnetic in that way. The hues are so divine - rich strawberry hues, soft mocha, deep espresso, beautiful English rose, antique beige, muted salmon, almost a blackish-charcoal, earthy taupe, and more. Unreal bands of abrash beam through giving this piece its authentic birthmarks and true one-of-one character. I love this rug every time I look at it and its beauty, coupled with its age and condition with the plush hand-spun wool pile gives it a glowing richness that is just so very impressive - true art right here.
