Pair of ceramic Cycladic inspired "Goddess" figures by ceramicist Cynthia Aldrich. Feature amorphous bounded white and slightly lavender hues on black ceramic, drawn and reinterpreted from classic Mediterranean Cycladic forms.
A contemporary North Carolina artist she has worked with clay for over 45 years. With roots as a functional potter she became interested in sculpture after a year off and developed a fascination with with prehistoric goddess figures.
The larger figure is 12" tall on a 2 1/2" square base. The other is 10" tall on a 2" square base.
Both are in excellent condition with no defects and are signed in gold tone ink on the underside of the base.
