It's cast out of thick black iron with bamboo tree embellishments on the sides done in high relief. It has a red lacquered lid with a bronze finial and the handle is exquisitely peened to the pot. The craftsmanship and age of this piece reflect the skill and artistry of Japanese tea and sake-making traditions from the early 19th century, making it a coveted item for enthusiasts of Japanese antiques. It has acquired a wonderful patina from age, is in good condition, and measures 8 3/4 inches long by 7 1/2 inches tall by 6 1/4 inches wide. See less
