fabulous glazed ceramic cup, entirely hand-decorated, made by the renowned faenza-based fratelli minardi factory.

information on the artist and/or manufacturer:
this important factory was founded in 1899 in faenza and boasts the collaboration of many of the most famous ceramists of the time and numerous auction results. In 1922, it was acquired by umberto focaccia and pietro melandri, who already worked at the factory. From that moment, all ceramics marked with the fratelli minardi mf, similar to that of the melandri focaccia factory, were distinguished by an s. Our cup features this s and can therefore be dated to the melandri and focaccia era. As you can read in the historical notes on this factory, shown in the photo at the bottom, this factory, which also included a ceramics school, was home to the greatest talents of italian ceramics of the time, including, in addition to the aforementioned melandri and focaccia, alfredo biagini, achille wildi, francesco nonni, riccardo gatti, and others.
