this double mark allows us to attribute the work with certainty to the sculptor marcel vandemeulebroucke, active around 1900 in the field of decorative and religious sculpture.

the sculpture is presented in its original frame, also made of molded plaster, richly decorated, with a red velvet backing. The ensemble forms a coherent wall piece, typical of the historicist productions of the late 19th century, blending neo-gothic influences in the figure and rococo in the frame.
