A striking table lamp of high-end italian design, part of the post-modern/space age lighting movement of the 1970s and 1980s (referring to the style of manufacturers such as fontana arte, stilnovo, and luceplan). The piece's architecture plays on the stark material and geometric contrast between the thick, glossy black lacquered metal conical base and the vertical diffuser, composed of two sheets of crystal in a sail-shaped crescent shape. The glass combines transparent edges with a central, satin-finish circular core that, when turned on, captures the light, creating a striking eclipse effect.
