This contemporary wall sculpture mimics the texture of marshmallows through hand-modeled natural clay, fired at a low temperature and spray-colored in a bold, tactile red. The work’s intricate knots and twists form a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, enhancing its sculptural depth. Elizabeth Art Candy (Verona, 1980) draws from Pop Art traditions to reinterpret childhood nostalgia through innovative materials and techniques. In these artworks, the volumetric hexagonal canvases explore the intersection of texture, color, and emotion, transforming familiar forms into sculptural statements. Technical Details: Title: Red Year: 2024 Technique: Hand-modeled natural clay, low-temperature fired, spray-colored on canvas Dimensions: 29x25 cm Signed on the back. The artwork is archived with archive stamp Unique piece, ready to display About Elizabeth Art Candy ‘Confetti, Marshmallow and Bubblegum’, these are the elements through which Elizabeth Art Candy (Verona, 1980) reinterprets the icons of our time: comic strips, cartoons, objects, images that take us back to other memories, not forgetting the fashion universe in which she has worked for years. Elizabeth, inspired by the tradition of Pop culture, manages to transform these clay candies into precious tesserae capable of giving life to works-mosaics, plastic and animated, where light slips into the hollows and fissures to create original volumetries, mixing techniques, materials and genres, modifying their function and exhorting us to see things in a new way. Reflection on the world around her and on the importance of creativity is a fundamental part of this artist's life, a conscious choice capable of summarising the childlike part that lies within each of us, but which we often forget, with the intention of bringing back ‘sweet memories.
