Up for sale is a very rare antique mid 19th century handmade Java, Indonesian bronze shadow puppet projector lamp.
This lovely lamp is in the form of a Garuda (giant bird) used in Wayang Kulit shadow puppet performances.
It's completely forged and tooled by hand with very elaborate detailing throughout out of thick bronze.
The lamp projects out of the chest and has large engraved wings.
It has acquired a lovely patina from age and measures 15 1/2 inches tall by 15 1/2 inches back to front by 14 1/2 inches wide.
The lid on the back is missing as shown in last photo.
