Beautiful rare set Charles Vandenhove.
Besides being a visual artist, Charles Vandenhove was primarily an architect. Sometimes his designs were intended as works of art, sometimes not. This depends more on the commission than on the quality of the work itself. The Column Pavilion is strictly geometric and soberly constructed. Close to this building stands a gate with two columns, Ionic capitals, and a pediment. The combination of the pavilion and the gate clearly places this design in the 1980s and postmodernism. The Column Pavilion was built from Belgian Soignies stone. Vandenhove designed a wide variety of objects, from the university hospital in Liège to chairs and benches, libraries, and organs.
