Scarce Sotheby's auction catalog featuring 410 lots from this iconic Cap Ferrat estate designed by the legendary Billy Baldwin who decorated La Fiorentina for his clients advertising executive Mary Wells Lawrence and her husband Harding Lawrence, president of Braniff International Airlines. They purchased the villa from Lady Kenmare in 1969.
This is a sale catalog for an auction held at Sotheby's in New York on May 23. 2001. Sale code: 7638 "BILLY". The sale consisted of objects in the collection of Villa Fiorentina. This villa had been extensively re-decorated by Billy Baldwin in the early 1970's. Essay by Louis Bofferding. 410 lots in the sale. Most illustrated in color. Virtually everything was purchased by Baldwin for the owners. A number of photographs of room settings.
