This sculptural figural lamp is a late 20th-century work executed in the Art Nouveau manner, drawing directly from Jugendstil and Symbolist precedents of circa 1900. The bronze base depicts a slender female figure grasping the stem of a stylized tree or mushroom, an organic vertical form that serves both as structure and metaphor. Her elongated posture and intimate embrace of the stem evoke Art Nouveau’s central theme of harmony between the human body and the natural world.

Rather than a literal narrative, the figure functions allegorically—suggesting a nature spirit or muse, protective and contemplative. The flowing contours of the bronze, softened facial modeling, and integrated base reflect historic Art Nouveau figural lighting, while the crisp casting and finish indicate later production inspired by earlier Continental models.

The lamp is fitted with a non-amber orange acid-etched art glass shade, decorated with softly defined leaf forms. The shade’s coloration and surface treatment are Loetz-inspired in style, producing a warm, atmospheric glow when illuminated without being attributed to an early 20th-century maker. The dark metal overlay and sinuous gallery further reinforce the organic vocabulary of the design.

Estate fresh and unaltered, the shade has not been removed from the base. The lamp retains an inline switch and is in working condition.
