Rare 1960's Fornasetti Art/Design on Richard Ginori Fine Porcelain - Al Merito Cup and Saucer
PIERO FORNASETTI "Al Merito”. One of the great pleasures of collecting vintage Fornasetti is finding unseen motifs from his vast body of work. With “Al Merito” we have a perfect example of an unfamiliar but evocative Fornasetti design. The title translates as "Navy Badges" - but we suspect that these badges are from the army in general and relate to the ceremony, patrimony and visual culture of Italy that Fornasetti was so fascinated and inspired by. Circa early 1960’s.
