Each chest is crafted from wood and finished with a lacquered surface, showcasing vibrant colors and fine brushwork that depict ceremonial and daily-life scenes.

These chests were traditionally used for storage of clothing, textiles, or valuables and are often associated with wedding or dowry chests. The hinged lids open smoothly, and both pieces retain their original metal hardware.
