This is an antique French Louis XVI style gilt bronze-mounted green marble urn lamp. It dates from the late 19th century, around the 1890s.
The lamp features a dark green "vert de mer" marble body with high-quality gilt bronze or ormolu mounts.
It is of baluster form, with leaf scroll handles and a stepped base.
The original urns were later electrified to function as lamps.
