Crafted from heavy-gauge steel and retaining its original matte black finish, this piece showcases a beautiful, untouched aged patina developed over nearly a century. Each drawer is fitted with its original brass label holder and curved steel pull, opening to reveal the iconic “klappet” mechanism — a tilt-down design used for archival and industrial storage throughout early 20th-century France.

Subtly stamped “5000” at the top center, this marking is consistent with internal production IDs used by Strafor during its pre-WWII manufacturing period. This cabinet was sourced from the iconic Big Daddy’s Antiques in Los Angeles, known for specializing in authentic European vintage.
