Chartered in 1670, Hudson's Bay is the oldest incorporated merchandising company. At its height, the company controlled the fur trade throughout much of the English and British-controlled North America. By the mid-19th century, Hudson's Bay transformed into a mercantile business selling furs and fine homeware across Canada. Hudson's Bay served as the official outfitters for Canada in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
