Used as a cache pot/planter, this type of decorative head was seen in White Lotus Season 2 filmed in Sicily. This is a truly unique statement piece for any room in your home or outdoor space, such as a patio. The head is substantial at almost 10 lbs. and showcases classic Majolica craftsmanship, carving and design. It is signed at the back "Dolce & Gabbana". See photos.

Moor's heads ("Graste") are symbolic of Sicily and tell stories of betrayal, passion, revenge and jealousy. Legend says that when the Moors dominated Sicily, a beautiful young Sicilian woman in Kalsa (the Arab quarter of Palermo) loved to care for her plants on her balcony. A Moor noticed her, professed his deep feelings of passion, and they fell madly in love. But soon after, when the young woman discovered her lover had a wife and child waiting at home, she became mad with jealousy. The young woman killed the Moor as he slept, cutting off his head and using it as a planter for basil. The young woman watered the basil with her tears, and over time the plant grew and thrived fantastically. Her neighbors became envious of her incredible plant and ordered ceramic vases similar to the Moor's head. See less
