A large oval Empire-style ceiling light, made in Italy around the 1940s and featuring eight lights.
The large and elegant structure is composed of a broad, chiseled brass band, from which chains of crystal octagons and diamonds descend, giving the lamp its classic hot air balloon shape. Inside, in the central section, is a rack-and-pinion screw that, once hung from the ceiling, allows the lamp to be raised until it rests against the ceiling by rotating it.
