The upper part, which is the ashtray tray, is decorated with a relief running around it, while the slender stem is segmented with vertical grooves reminiscent of antique columns. The stable, round base with a gently rounded rim is also made of the same precious material. The upper part of the ashtray features a functional mechanism with a darker, patinated button and a horizontal handle, which add a touch of contrast to the whole. The ashtray is in very good condition—only minor signs of typical wear are visible, such as a delicate patina and micro-scratches on the base and rim of the tray—which confirms its vintage authenticity; all elements are original, without any restoration. This ashtray expresses the spirit of an era in which luxury took the form of decorative functionality. In the Hollywood Regency style, the material and detail are subordinated to the theatricality of everyday objects – every flash of light on the polished surface, every rhythm of the grooves carries the promise of encounters, conversations, and moments of respite, during which the gesture of extinguishing a cigarette becomes almost a ritual. The darker patina button is a reminder of the passage of time, and the slightly worn edges do not hide the history of past decades. In interior design, such an ashtray can be placed next to a sofa in a living room decorated in the spirit of the mid-20th century, preferably accompanied by velvet furniture, lacquered consoles, or mirrors in heavy, golden frames. It can be paired with a lamp on a tall glass leg or ceramic vessels with geometric shapes to bring out the contrast between the brass shine and the matte textures of other decorations. It will find its place most fully in a space dominated by eclectic glamour, classic style with a hint of sophisticated decadence, or a style inspired by the collectible Hollywood Regency of the 1950s.
