This century old teak root resembles stone and is extremely rare and so sculptural. The live edge top is made from two long four inch thick reclaimed slabs. We bleached the top and added a light white wash revealing the beautiful wood grain. The base was cleaned and left to bake in the sun revealing the original grey tone. Both sides are simply stunning. The console embodies the Wabi Sabi philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. The St. Barts Collection features an exciting line of organic white wash, bleached and natural weathered teak furniture. The reclaimed teak is bleached and left to bake in the sun and sea salt air for over a year to achieve this unique finish. Select pieces are infused with a brilliant aqua resin that is cracked to achieve a unique quartz crystal effect.
