We added by hand, shell inlaid into the flat surface. An interesting art object to hang on the wall or if placed down, a side table 10” high. Full dimensions; 19" x 19" x 10” x center 8" x 8” with the shell. This art piece was hand made in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility.
