Toulouse-Lautrec's celebrated design for La Revue Blanche, originally issued in 1895 as a full-size poster, appears here in its officially sanctioned reduced-format printing for Les Maîtres de l'Affiche ("The Masters of the Poster") - the influential monthly portfolio published from 1895-1900 that reproduced the most important posters of the Belle Époque.
This image features Misia Natanson, muse of the avant-garde and cofounder of the literary and artistic journal La Revue Blanche. Lautrec's delicate linework, refined palette, and keen psychological insight are on full display.
Printed by Imprimerie Chaix, the exclusive printer for the Maîtres series, and released as Plate No. 82 in 1897.
