The lamps are crafted entirely in copper and feature Holm Sørensen’s signature flame-cut technique, where the edges are hand-cut and heat-treated, resulting in the characteristic irregular contours and rich, warm surface tones.

The copper has developed a natural aged patina over time, with visible tonal variation, surface marks and fine scratches that are typical for hand-worked mid-century copper and considered an integral part of the design’s character. The cylindrical form combined with the flame-cut detailing reflects the sculptural, material-driven approach that defines Holm Sørensen’s work and places these pendants firmly within the Scandinavian brutalist and late modernist lighting tradition.

Svend Aage Holm Sørensen is internationally recognised for his expressive use of metal, particularly copper and brass, and his work is represented in both private and public collections.
