Pepe Morales (Palma del Río, Córdoba, 1933).
In his early career in Seville, he founded the "Young Sevillian School," focusing on landscape painting.
In the 1950s, he began a period of intense focus on texture, decisively choosing abstraction as his means of expression.
After receiving several grants, awards, and exhibitions, in the 1970s he began a "dark period," bordering on realism, expressionism, and surrealism. By the 1980s, he had returned to light and color, rediscovering figuration and Flemish oil and tempera techniques.
