Scandinavian mid 19th century painted pine strongbox circa 1840.
Good quality rustic Swedish pine strong box, painted in black with original metal strap work. A flat top, which makes it possible to use as a side table. hinged lid opens to a bare pine interior fitted with an open partition.
Obvious losses to paintwork, losses and rusting to metalwork. No working lock. Still functions and ready for everyday use.
