A decorative pair of carved and gilded wooden urns in the neoclassical style, originally used as lamp bases. The urn forms feature scrolling handles, fluted bodies, acanthus leaf carving, and ribbon details on the plinth.
These pieces retain traces of their original gilt surface with desirable oxidation and exposed bole and gesso showing through — a classic hallmark of antique Italian gilded wood. The tops retain openings from their former wiring.
Perfect as tabletop objects, mantle accents, or candidates for re-converting back into lamps.
