Hiroshi Yamano started his "From East to West" series in the late 1980s. He blends multiple glass art techniques such as blowing, cutting, silver and copper plating, engraving and etching into zen-like sculptural still lifes.
We particularly love this super heavy master piece for its light up fish contour in gold color when light passes through the globe. Also you will see fishes both swimming on the surface and inside the glass.
It does come with green patina built up around the bottom. Most of Yamano's pieces like this come with a fish stuck inside the hole, this one might be missing that fish. It is a stunning piece with or without the fish.
Artist signature has been etched onto the glass at the bottom.
