This large wall sculpture was produced by Dantoft, a Danish workshop known for expressive brutalist ironworks combined with coloured glass during the 1960s and 1970s. The piece reflects the period’s sculptural approach to decorative metalwork, where hand-forged wrought iron is treated as both structure and ornament.
The construction features manually worked iron elements arranged in a strong vertical composition, combined with solid coloured glass components in deep amber and blue tones. The glass is integrated as an essential visual element, creating contrast, rhythm and depth against the dark iron framework.
Dantoft works are characterised by their bold, graphic forms and artisanal production methods rather than industrial serial manufacture. Each piece was made by hand in Denmark, resulting in subtle variations that underline its unique sculptural character.
This wall sculpture is a powerful example of Scandinavian brutalist design, intended to function both as a decorative object and as a sculptural focal point within an interior. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
