The base is a domed metal body covered with a matte, satin patina in shades of brown and warm brass; its lower edge is accentuated by a solid black ring made of hard plastic. The cream-beige onyx stem exudes a calm, slightly transparent surface, decorated with natural veining and a semi-gloss finish. The onyx segment is bordered by darker metal rings. The top is crowned with a black, polygonal handle made of bakelite or plastic, contrasting with the mineral base. The whole is complemented by a profiled metal handle, which matches the color of the other elements and allows for comfortable carrying. The proportions – strongly vertical – create a clear silhouette, and the careful fitting of the details confirms the solid craftsmanship of the era. The product bears slight traces of patina and minor wear typical of its age, but it is in very good condition – the originality of all elements remains intact. The shape of the ashtray evokes the atmosphere of Viennese salons and modern hotel lobbies from the mid-20th century – it combines the rigor of discipline with a hint of everyday ritual and home comfort. Onyx speaks of a return to authentic, natural materials, while black graphic accents introduce a discreet tension between function and ornamentation. The combination of reflective matte metal and cool mineral suggests an object that, on the one hand, calms the space and, on the other, discreetly draws attention to itself with every detail. The ashtray can be displayed solo on a low table with an organic finish or on a shelf, accompanied by sculptural ceramics or onyx or marble vessels. It will fit well among walnut furniture, brass details, and textiles in linen, olive green, or graphite shades. Its geometric lines will harmoniously complement stylish mid-century modern arrangements and emphasize the rhythm of art deco-inspired spaces. It can also provide a counterpoint in a modern, eclectic interior with a retro touch. See less
