He wears a crested helmet, a short belted tunic and a draped chlamys over one shoulder. The raised arm forms a commanding gesture, inspired by classical Roman statuary. This piece belongs to the tradition of Grand Tour bronzes, produced in Italy during the 19th century for European collectors, after idealized models of antique Roman sculpture.
