David Gil Faces Artwork ' Man With Bowler Hat ' Sculpture Bennington Potters
Approximate measurements: 21" H x 9" W
A sculpture titled 'Man With Bowler Hat' created by artist David Gil from his series called Faces. Made from a combination of ceramic and metal. This original piece depicts a man with a distinctive bowler hat, mirrored glasses, a mustache, thick eyebrows, and distinct nose. The sculpture blends folk art style with modernist ceramic techniques. The head sits on top of a metal pole that is removable from the block base. There is cork board material on the bottom of the very solid/ heavy base helping protect surfaces its set on. The pole has threads but it doesn't seem to thread into the base. It does sit in it easily and seems sturdy.
The sculpture is quite heavy and the block base will be taken off for shipping.

It looks as though some paint has gotten on the edge/ rim of the left side lens when it was made adding to its uniqueness. No major scratches or chips that I could see. Overall general wear due to age and storage. Please see pictures for more details. NOTE: when stating the "LEFT" or "RIGHT" side, I mean when you are facing the front of the item and it would be your "LEFT" or "RIGHT" less
