Decorative Art Nouveau majolica pedestal comport (tazza), produced in Continental Europe around the turn of the 20th century.
The piece features a rich emerald-green glazed dish supported on a stepped pedestal base, accented with moulded floral garlands and stylised feet. The colour palette and sculptural form are characteristic of high-quality Art Nouveau majolica from the period and closely relate to examples produced by leading European manufactories such as Villeroy & Boch.
The piece is unmarked, which is consistent with some period majolica wares. It is therefore offered in the manner of Villeroy & Boch, rather than as a confirmed attribution.
