The secretaire is crafted … Read more This is a very good example of a late 18th century Louis XVI Secretaire a Abattant. The secretaire is crafted of solid walnut and is a generous 39.5" wide. The fall front when down reveals an interior configuration of 6 drawers surrounding a central "cubby" with two shelves above. The lower section of the secretaire is configured with 3 long drawers providing (always needed) extra storage. The secretaire has been recently ebonized and is in excellent condition The leather of the fall front has been expertly replaced with the finest leather surrounded by gilt detailing. All of the original brass hardware is present. Key is not available. See less
