Covered intricate field of pomegranate top views, germinating finned ferns, and plants dispersed throughout with minor serpent design renderings scattering the ground. Inner and outer minor borders in a reciprocating pawn design motif. Extremely fine quality, natural dyes, brilliant gem tone saturation, and a very soft, long stapled, high grade wool. Likely woven on a mobile loom by Nomadic Kurdish weavers, this piece is an unusual size and scale considering this fact. Colors and shades include: Camel, sapphire blue, ruby red, pomegranate red, saffron yellow, mallard green, jade green, sand, beige, emerald green, deep teal, ruby red grapefruit, aubergine, and more. Condition notes: Areas of pile, knot heads and foundation. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Fully secured sides and ends. Loss of outer minor stripe border to both ends. A few localized areas of repairs and restorations. One end measures 4'8 whereas the opposing measures 5'5. This variation is within normal margins for hand knotted rugs of this type, age, and size. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Serab carpet made in Persia circa 1880's vintage. See less
