This table starts out as a rectangle but with three impressive leaves it can extend to 122" (each leaf is 18" x 38"). The table has a slight chinoiserie feel (especially at the bottom of the table legs). It was part of the Far East Collection he did for Baker. It has small brass wheels at the bottom of the table legs that make it easier to extend the table.

Michael Taylor was the visionary Interior Designer credited with establishing the "California Look". He created several iconic collections for Baker Furniture during the 1950s and 1960s that blended modernism with traditional and organic influences.

Far East Collection was launched in 1949, this was one of the first truly Asian-inspired furniture lines manufactured in the U.S.. Taylor used materials like natural elmwood, teak, and brass, incorporating subtle Asian motifs like Greek key designs and burl inlays that paired easily with both contemporary and traditional decor.
