Marianne Nowottny’s is best known for her musical projects but she is an equally proficient visual artist, poet and illustrator. She painted a series of faux-folk sign paintings in 2011. We are proud to offer them to the public for the first time.

Her visual art has been shown in a range of independent and alternative art spaces across the United States, including Abaton Project Room in New York, Studio 620 in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Flux Factory Benefit at the Hungarian Cultural Center, Outlander Gallery in Jersey City, NJ, Denise Dibrio Gallery in New York, Sideshow Gallery in Brooklyn, City Without Walls in Newark, Janet Kurnatowsky’s Gallery in Brooklyn, and Bar Olivino in Brooklyn.

She has also presented solo exhibitions such as "Euphoria" (2011) and "In the Air" at Sweet Priscilla’s in Jersey City, showcasing her long-standing engagement with the art world through both group and solo shows.

Beyond her fine art practice, she has made significant contributions as an illustrator, notably providing the charming illustrations for the children’s book Kung Fu Kitty by Lauri Bortz, where her drawings helped define the visual world of the story alongside her work on set designs and the musical score for the associated DVD and film projects See less
