A wonderful pair of sculptures depicting two sweet little girls, one sitting and one kneeling, crafted entirely from terracotta, modeled by hand using gouges and other ceramic tools. This is evident from the weight of the two sculptures and the fact that the terracotta is solid, meaning it was modeled by hand without the use of a mold. These two unique pieces, of the highest value, were created by the Italian sculptor Rosetta Calligaris, a prominent contemporary artist active in Trieste. Both are signed with the incised signature "Calligaris" and dated "96" (1996). This piece has an attribution mark,
