An early 19th-century Worcester porcelain tea cup and saucer by Flight, Barr & Barr, decorated in the celebrated “Two Quail” pattern derived from Chinese Kangxi and Japanese Arita porcelain. The paired quail motif symbolises harmony and abundance and is here interpreted with clarity and restraint.
Hand-painted throughout, with bright, well-preserved enamels, the porcelain body is dense and cool white with a smooth transparent glaze. The gently undulating saucer rim enhances the refined proportions of the set.
Marked FBB and dating to 1807–1813, the period when Flight, Barr & Barr achieved their highest technical standards and held royal patronage.
Documented exhibition provenance adds further significance.
