The sculpted base is cast as a stylized, organic flower with softly modeled petals and a fluted stem—typical of Follot's early work for the Parisian gallery La Maison Moderne, for which he designed luxurious metalwork and lighting around 1901–1904. The relief signature "P. Follot" is clearly visible on the top of the base, while the underside bears several foundry marks and the hand-engraved inscription "Jean Fauré," most likely a dedication or ownership mark linking the lamp to the later Art Deco decorator known for his Amboyna and Macassar furniture.

The electrical system has either been replaced and tested, or started up.
