Vigiletti began her glass studies in Detroit at the College for Creative Studies in 1969 and established her own studio in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 1975, where she developed a pioneering voice in small-scale sculptural glass forms.

This exquisite paperweight features hand-formed, non-lead clear and yellow glass in a flattened ovoid silhouette, with a lively internal abstract landscape created through layered glass and a deliberately placed air bubble. The piece is tooled with fine precision and grounded flat at the base, signed “Syl Vigiletti 1979” near the bottom.

Vigiletti’s works are held in numerous private and public collections, including the Chazen Museum of Art and the Corning Museum of Glass. See less
