The service reflects the renewed taste for rocaille forms in Paris porcelain around 1840.

Decorated with a turquoise ground and floral panels associated with the Jacob Petit circle, the service is finished with fine gilding and delicate scroll motifs. The overall appearance is refined and harmonious.
All four pieces belong to the same matching set and retain excellent visual unity.

The bases show a small underglaze pseudo-Sèvres stroke, used by Paris workshops as a discreet quality mark.

Excellent antique condition throughout. The teapot, sugar bowl and bonbon dish show full preservation of enamel painting and gilding, with no cracks or restorations. The milk jug has a small, barely visible internal firing line; it is not visible externally. Gilding, including the delicate decoration on the spout, is exceptionally well preserved. The service appears to have been very little used. See less
