This bauhaus cantilever armchair was produced in czechoslovakia during the 1930s by kovona and follows a design attributed to mart stam. The chair is constructed with a chrome-plated tubular steel frame and fitted with a beech wood seat, backrest, and armrests made from solid beech and beech plywood. The cantilever form exemplifies the principles of bauhaus modernism, emphasizing functional construction, industrial materials, and visual lightness. The wooden components have been professionally restored, while the chrome retains minor signs of age consistent with original use.
