Beautiful Chinese stone rubbing hanging scroll of Hanshan and Shide, known in Japanese as Kanzan and Jittoku. Silk border depicts the delicate lotus flower in blue and gold.
These two monks are legendary figures of Zen Buddhism, Cold Mountain Temple in Suzhou China.
Art is surrounded by a beautiful blue and gold silk textile on paper, signed by Tang Renzhai, early 20thC, large red stamp lower left.
