One pair of large hollow handmade copper 19th century French architectural finials, sometimes referred to as 'pots a feu' that function as lidded urns.
These were popular in the 18th and 19th century, France. originally designed as decorative elements to top gateposts, balustrades, rooflines, or pedestals to add a more formal, classical touch to the architecture.
These have weighted bases and are overall quite light weight with some natural rich patina and imperfections. One lid does appear to be lighter, maybe from cleaning, than the base and other urn - NOT terribly noticeable if separated.
These would be a great addition to any interior or exterior as decorative objects.
Measurements approx:
ttl height 33.5"
base ht 20" and lid 13.5"
top opening 11.75"
base diam 15.25"

Also as mentioned, one lid appears to have been attempted to be cleaned and is SLIGHTLY lighter. ALSO these appear to have been kept indoors more than outdoors as color is still quite copper and less patinated. less
