It is unique in that it is a "bookend" piece, i.e., the original walnut log was cut in half and opened like a "book" exposing mirrored grain patterns. The log was then milled, formed, sanded and sealed creating this unique piece. The walnut was salvaged from a local farm, aged and kiln dried for over two years and is 60+ years old. This board will last a lifetime. and is easily cared for using Rule62 board butter (see Rule62design.com) See less
