This piece was created during my residency at a French chateau and completed in my studio in Grafton, Wisconsin, in 2025.The experience of working in such an inspiring location, surrounded by centuries-old architecture and beautiful gardens, profoundly influenced my creative process. The chateau's timeless charm and the serene landscapes of the French countryside offered a perfect backdrop for exploring new ideas and techniques.

Completing the piece back in my Grafton studio allowed me to infuse it with a sense of home, combining the memories of my time abroad with the familiar comforts of my creative sanctuary. This blend of influences is evident in the layers of paint and graphite, each stroke a testament to a journey that bridges continents and emotions. See less
