A very chic and iconic set of three wall sconces by Mathieu Matégot.
France, 1950s.
Very rare pieces by this fabulous designer.
The structure is made of perforated yellow lacquered metal with a brass rim.
The reflectors are brass, with small openings that allow a soft beam of light to pass through. Two small brass pieces adorn and decorate the sconces.
Each sconce holds two small screw-in bulbs, six in total (included).
In very good condition, with some minor signs of age, nothing significant, see photos.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution,
