A superb pair of antique English oak bankers chairs. Made from English Oak, with the original red leather seat covering, a lovely open arms shape and vertical back supports. C1920
The banker's chair, or captain's chair, emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a staple of office and library furniture, evolving from basic wooden forms to incorporating leather upholstery for senior staff comfort.
These chairs are in a lovely antique condition, they would make a great pair of additional seating or as office chairs. (Seat Height 47cm)
