The line launched in 1949/1950 as a revolutionary, affordable, modular mid-century modern furniture brand (including tables, desks, cabinets) made with clean lines and solid wood for the growing post-war American middle class. This line was produced by Winchendon Furniture Company and known for its flexibility, "open-stock" availability, and functional design, and became one of the best-selling contemporary lines of the 1950s. For example, the legs on this table simply unscrew (wood threads! no metal; shown) so can be stored flat.

The style features clean lines, minimal ornamentation, American vernacular styles(Shaker/Windsor), and low profiles, blending modernism with familiarity. Made from solid wood (maple, birch, walnut) with durable construction. This iteration has some kind of subtly sparkled laminate. The sparkle can only be seen from circuit and angles. It is by no means flashy! Actually quite serene with the straight lines, clean legs and square shape. Manufactured by the Winchendon Furniture Company in Massachusetts.

I purchased this from the grandchild of an architect, affiliated with the Planner Group (in Northern California).

This table is 1526-15- model shown in the attached diagrams. The serial number is written by hand underneath.

By the size, it could be a corner or end table or a coffee table, depending on your space. I photographed in front of a console covered in Christmas ornaments and you can see how the glossy top truly reflects everything in the room! Beautiful near a window to reflect the outdoors.
