Bloom. Circa early 2000s. It measures 12 × 15 inches as framed. It can be oriented vertically or horizontally. This original print is unsigned. It was part of a large trove of works we acquired directly from his estate in 2020.

Bloom’s work is heavily influenced by the Mid-Century New York Abstract Expressionists and Action Painters such as Cy Twombly, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, and Jackson Pollack. This series may have been influenced by the Spanish Minimalist Eduardo Chillida.

Bloom (1935-2019) had a long career in advertising before turning his attention to painting and printmaking. He was a resident of the North Fork of Long Island, not far from our gallery. His work was varied, including abstract and figurative subjects. One commonality is a superb understanding of color and composition, as well as an expert technique and high quality materials. See less
